The first Bulgarian cooperative was founded on 26 October 1890 in Mirkovo Village, Sofia District – Mirkovo Lending, Savings and Agricultural Society "Oralo". Founders of the Bulgarian cooperative movement are Todor Vlaykov and Todor Yonchev, who have been honoured by the CCU with a sculpture – a bronze bas-relief.
