Membership

The Central Cooperative Union is member of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) since 1902. Currently ICA unites, represents and protects the interests of more than 1 billion individual members from 287 national cooperative organisations in 94 countries around the world and generates annual economic turnover of USD 2.7 trillion. 

Cooperatives Europe – European Region of the International Cooperative Alliance (Cooperatives Europe) unites, represents and protects the interests of 123 million individual members, 78 cooperative organisations in 32 countries operating in 6 sectors (agriculture, finance, consumption, housing, production, services and pharmacy). These organisations account for 5.4 million jobs in Europe.

Since 1994 the Central Cooperative Union has been an "observer" and since 2004 it is a full-fledged member of the European Community of Consumer Cooperatives (Euro Coop), which unites, represents and protects the interests of more than 30 million individual members from national consumer cooperative organisations in 18 European countries. 

Since 1990 the Central Cooperative Union is member of Consumer Cooperatives Worldwide (CCW), which is a sector organisation within ICA, uniting, representing and protecting the interests of 27 national consumer cooperative organisations with more than 75 million individual members and more than EUR 500 billion annual economic turnover.
